About Us

Born in Suffolk in November of 1942, within a ring of 8th AAF bases,i attended my first airshow in Felixstowe in 1949 and have been a lifelong attendee at airshows worldwide ever since.Married to a most supportive lady, one son, and long time resident of Ipswich, Suffolk.

On leaving school i had originally planned a career as a pharmacist but instead had a variety of jobs including lab technician and farm worker, in the spring of 1969 i obtained a post at the Imperial War Museum in the photo library where i stayed for three years meeting most of the writers and artist's that were working in the military field at that time.

I first began to exhibit at a local art gallery in Sufolk in 1969 where i sold my first picture in the October of that year.My first solo exhibition was in 1970 on the US base in Bentwaters.By the end of 1971 i had taken the decision to try art as a full time occupation and in the spring of 1972 i resigned from my post at the IWM and returned to Suffolk.

I began with a regular series of exhibitions at the Deben Gallery in Woodbridge Suffolk of pen drawings of old buildings and watercolour studies of fungi. I began to exhibit aviation work at US bases craft fares in 1972 after being introduced to this market by the then future wife of USAF Chief of Staff Gen John P. Jumper.I have since gone on to exhibit several times in Belgium (Koksijde), France, Germany (Berlin ILA) and Friedrichshafen. You can often see me at Airshow exhibits around the country including Mildenhall,Fairford,Waddington,Middle Wallop,Raydon, Parham,Rougham,Seething,Bentwaters,Alconbury,Wattisham,Bawdsey,Martlesham, and West Raynham. As well as these i also attend the Wargame conventions at Elvington and Bovingdon.

Since 1972 i have completed somewhere in the region of 6000 commissions, and sold as many as 80,000 prints from my own extensive catalogue.I currently have work in private collections throughout the UK and Europe also the USA, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.I produced the millenium year calendar for the then Belgium Air Force.

Specializing mainly in USAF and USAAF subjects, but i have also worked extensively with the RAF and RAF Regiment and also with the Army Air Corps and US Army Aviation.

Presently involved with the Suffolk Aviation Heritage where my role is to produce drawings to a common scale, of all the different aircraft operated in,visiting, and attacking in time of war the county of Suffolk from 1785 to the present day.Against a database of 1000-plus !. i have in the past 15 months up to Dec 2007 completed 62 pieces, but unless God is willing i dont think i will live long enough to complete this project.
